Finally we come to the first of my two English weddings this year. I was invited down to Grantham to photograph the wedding of Fliss and James. Fliss has been a friend from back in my cruise ship days. We were a management team at one point, running the photography department on Ocean Village. She was my boss…she was ok..haha, jokes – she was great! but Ive never been able to drink Magners since. So fast forward many years later, it was time for her wedding and I had the lovely Jayne (also a cruise ship survivor) helping me out.
We started on a gorgeous sunny morning. I, being Scottish, was struggling with the temperature difference already..when was the last time I shot a wedding without wearing a jacket??? I can’t remember…
Fliss created an Alice in Wonderland theme. She and her amazing friends created most of the pieces from scratch.
The girls were all relaxed and looking forward to the day ahead.
Fliss had a blush pink wedding dress – beautiful.
She was a stunning bride.
Mum, Shelley, walked her down the stairs and then Dad, Jez, escorted her down the aisle.
I was loving the hall they got married in.
Their ceremony was really beautiful with lots of laughs and funny readings.
The lovely bridal party.
There was a few dogs at this wedding.
Fliss and James really wanted both their pups to be part of the day too.
We took a walk through the beautiful grounds at Stoke Rochford Hall.
I love a cheese cake!!
There was a good 6 speeches to go through – all highly entertaining, we enjoyed listening along with eating and drinking our afternoon tea.
Photographer 101 – fields and sunsets
Luckily Fliss is a wedding photographer herself and knows the importance of fields and sunsets.
We headed back down to the hall for cake cutting and first dance.
The last event of the night was sparklers!!!
Thank you so much to Fliss and James for having me shoot their beautiful Stoke Rochford Hall Wedding. It was an amazing day and I enjoyed both being a guest and capturing moments too.
