country farm feels

Date: 28th Sept 2018

Venue:  Family Farm // Kingarth Hotel

Just a short week after Gillian and Andrew’ Wedding, I was back on Bute for Maureen and Mark’s beautiful day. Maureen being a farmers daughter wanted a country rustic theme and she pulled it off beautifully. I started off at the family farm where the ceremony would be held in the garden. (we were exceptionally lucky with the weather!)

During bridal prep, I took the girls for a quick walk on the beach…it would have been rude not to! The girls all had there wellies prepped so we went in for a paddle in the sea. During this time Helen and Melissa were working away on hair and make up.

Mark and the boys waited patiently in the farm garden for the arrival of the girls. The guests all had bales of hay to sit on and blankets to keep warm ( there was a slight cold breeze!) Maureen arrived and was walked down the aisle by her very proud Dad. Minister – Gary McIntyre conducted the ceremony, a beautiful touch as he was a family friend. After the ceremony guests mingled in the garden and helped themselves to the drinks in the bar tent.

The whole bridal party headed into the ground of Mount Stuart for photos. It was a lot of fun playing about and creating the group photos. The boys and kids were climbing on trees! After I took Maureen and Mark out on their own for a few photos. They were so relaxed and up for anything so well done to them for climbing through the ferns…it makes an excellent photo though! Maureens brother and Dad kindly built a pyramid of hay for us to use as a photo prop as well! We dropped the bridal party off at the hotel and quickly took to the beach for some photos on that stunning red sand.

Kingath Hotel was the fabulous host of this marquee wedding. Maria and her team do a fantastic job when it comes to the Bute Weddings…the food is amazing!!! Maureen continued the theme of country wedding with wildflowers, hay bales, the tree base for the cake – it was all beautiful. The bride and groom were piped into dinner and we immediately heard some wonderful speeches. After dinner guests socialised before heading back in for the first dance and to party the night away! Thank you so much to Maureen and Mark for having me photograph their wedding. It was a beautiful Isle of Bute Farm Wedding.
