Gary and Megan are one of those couples with an awesome background story. Megan from the USA, Gary from Scotland – met on a Cruise Ship, fell in love and no matter how far away from each other they are at any time, you can tell they are totally devoted to each other. I went to school with Gary so it was amazing to work with someone I already knew and even though I didn’t meet Megan until a few days before the wedding, I knew we would get along great. She is so warmhearted and constantly with a smile on her face. They both made this day really easy for me.
I met Megan in the Apex International as she was getting ready with her bridesmaids and family – most of whom flew over to America for this wedding.
All the girls had a fab time getting ready.
I headed to meet the boys and catch the last of their preparations.
Megan took time out to read a note from Gary and tried not to cry.
All the girls pitched in to help Megan with the last of her details.
Megan made a stunning bride.
The bridal party all got on the bus to head to the Church.
They had a beautiful ceremony that included Scottish traditions like ‘tying the knot’ and drinking whisky from the quaich.
The full bridal party.
Once the church was emptied we headed back in for some amazing shots.
We then headed back to the Apex. The Bride and Groom brought their friend from Vegas who does fire breathing and well, you know, we got him in the photo.
Gary and Megan used a travel theme for their tables as they are lucky enough to travel all over the world.
We headed upstairs for dinner and speeches with a beautiful view of the castle in the background.
After dinner we headed out into the old town of Edinburgh for a few more photos. They both wanted to make sure they captured the spirit of Scotland.
In the evening we took on a slightly more american tradition of father/daughter and mother/son dance, not forgetting the first dance as husband and wife.
They then treated their american guests to some tradition Scottish dancing.
After everyone had a go – the band started on the more modern music and everyone partied late into the evening. Thank you Gary & Megan for inviting me along to your special day. It was a beautiful Scottish Elopement in Edinburgh.
