lets elope to the sea

Venue: The Crinan Hotel, Argyll

Finally summer had arrived in Scotland and just in time for Gina & Aaron’s Wedding ceremony at the Crinan Hotel in Argyll and Bute. The stunning seaside village of Crinan is tucked away off the beaten track between Lochgilphead and Oban. The Crinan Hotel is situated right beside the Crinan Canal, a popular tourist attraction.

Gina & Aaron had come from the bustling city of London to get married here. They both love the outdoors and basically scanned the map of Scotland for hotels by the sea and picked the gorgeous Crinan Hotel. They only invited 3 members of their family to join them on their elopement, so it was a very small and intimate wedding indeed. I started off my day by heading up to see Gina who was getting her hair and make up done by the lovely Leanne of Leanne Fraser MUA.

Once Gina was ready, I headed to Crinans secret garden (so secret, I struggled to find it, haha) where I met Aaron. He looked very handsome in his top hat and tux. I’m used to photographing men in kilts so this was something different for me.

The secret garden had some lovely stairs leading up to it. Gina was helped up by her Aunt who was giving her away.

The ceremony was really heartfelt. Both chose to write their own personal vows and tears of happiness took over.

The wedding party.

Gina looking stunning in her dress.

I stole them both away for a little while to get some photos around the village.

We headed to the canal to capture the seaside wedding they had dreamed of.

Down at the pier with the fishing gear.

Lastly I walked them back to the hotel so they could cut their cake and share a wedding breakfast with their family. It was really an honour to share their special day with them. I wish them all the best of the future and hope to see them up in Scotland again soon. A beautiful Crinan Hotel Wedding. Congratulations!
