Date: 15th of May 2016
Venue: St. Blanes Chapel, Bute
It was an absolute honour to be asked to photograph Carrie & Doug’s special day. They came all the way from Australia to be married on the beautiful Isle of Bute in an abandoned chapel on the top of a hill. The views were breathtaking and the weather was hot and sunny. We couldn’t of asked for a more perfect day…here is what we got up to…
I met Carrie at the St. Blanes Hotel. The whole two families hired out all of the hotel so they could spend a few days together before and after the wedding.
Doug and the boys made sure there was an Aussie touch about the place.
They were looking very handsome in their kilts – a first time for them all to wear one
Carrie and the girls got ready in the main room.
Carrie had her four flower girls on hand – Lana, Jenna, Lois and Charlotte.
We took a short drive to the St. Blanes Chapel site entrance and then we had a small hike to the top of the hill.
The guests gathered round as the ceremony started.
The full bridal party.
After the group photos, we spent some time on the site taking in the stunning views.
back near the hotel we took a stroll out onto the pier.
As this was a very relaxed day with no speeches or cakes – I left the bride and groom to enjoy their meal but we agreed to meet up later as the sun was setting for a few more shots.
As this is where I grew up there were a few secret spots that I knew would be great for photos.
Our last stop was overlooking the Isle of Arran in the distance. Thank you so much to Carrie and Doug for having me as their photographer and I wish them all the best for the future. It was a beautiful bute wedding.
